The silence of the lambs

Finally saw 'The silence of the lambs'. Been wanting to see it for a long time.More so , since I am a fan of the thriller genre of movies. The well made ones atleast. An awesome movie. Especially Anthony Hopkins' portrayal of Hannibal Lecter is mind blowing. Jodie Foster too gives an aptly restrained performance. I still get goosebumps when I visualize the scene where Lecter is shackled and taken to meet the senator. All through the first half of the film, Lecter seems perfectly normal, civil and cultured. In fact, it is difficult to imagine him to be the serial cannibalistic killer.

The dialogues between Foster and Hopkins are engaging and delve into the psyche of the human mind. Especially, the quid pro quo repartees between Foster and Hopkins.

I'd recommend this movie to any avid movie watcher.

That's one scary movie you are talking about. :)

I made the mistake of watching it at night. At times it's also repulsive. But yea, Hopkins fits the role to the T. I've always been a big fan of Jodie foster.

Nice movie though. Definitely worth a watch.

If you are interested in similar movies, you should give No Country for Old Men, a shot. Damn, I had to pause the movie midway before I could continue. :P Gripping and scary at the same time. The Texan accent does take some getting used to though.

Anthony Hopkins introduction in the film is brilliant. We pass captives who are jeering, sneering, making snide remarks, are screaming, and are all violent, and suddenly there is this sophisticated, civilized man standing and smiling from behind a glass wall.

Just when you are expecting the worst, you get this. Absolutely thrilling and scary.

Did my post give the idea that the movie was glamorous? Also, does a movie have to have glamor(as you call it) to be certified good?

It is an extremely well made film and the portrayals are brilliant. It has all the hallmarks of a brilliant film.

Anyways, each one has their own likes and if you did not like it, so be it.
